2016-02-27 09:04:51 <phantomcircuit> Lauda, tl;dr it doesn't achieve lower latency compared to the system already deployed for miners
2016-02-27 09:05:36 <phantomcircuit> and does not result in anywhere near as large of a bandwidth reduction compared to existing bandwidth reduction measures for non-miners (those measures are incompatible with a thin blocks scheme)
2016-02-27 09:05:54 <Lauda> Thanks.
2016-02-27 19:09:51 <coin_trader> hey guys, read over the release notes on v12 - the bit about removing SSL from RPC connections it says is to remove dependency on OpenSSL, but the workaround listed in the notes states to use stunnel, which itself uses OpenSSL... is there a problem with OpenSSL that i am unaware of or it's primarily a speed thing you guys have chosen to migrate away from OpenSSL?
2016-02-27 19:10:10 <coin_trader> forgive me if this is on a dev chat somewhere, point me to the logs and i'll read thru if too busy to discuss...
